Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 11 April 2022

 An Inside Job

If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
(Psalms 11:3)

Today’s Morsel: Everything seems to be attacking the foundation of the church. Politicians, media, demons, educational institutions, and world leaders are coming against the church. When we look at the book of Revelations it states, And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.(Revelation 21:14) On the Day of Pentecost, around 33 AD, they laid the foundation of Jesus Christ. Keep in mind that the apostle Paul was not one of the original apostles of Jesus. He was later appointed as an apostle to the Gentiles. Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus, Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord(Ephesians 2:19-21)  And so if this foundation of Jesus Christ, which was taught by the apostles, and later given to us by the anointing and the Holy Spirit can be destroyed, what will we do?  We see that holiness, marriage, unity, church attendance, separation from the world, and character, which were taught by the apostles, are all under attack. The enemy can only destroy this foundation by doing an inside job through false teaching, false ministers, and false witnesses. As Paul again said, For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.(2 Corinthians 11:13-15) Paul said that he stood in defense of the gospel. What about you?

Sing: Stand up! Stand up for Jesus, ye soldier of the cross.   Lift high the royal banner, it must not suffer loss. From victory unto victory, His army shall He lead; till every foe is vanquished, and Christ is Lord indeed.

Thought For Today: For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.(1 Corinthians 3:11)
