Love For Others
“Beloved,
let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born
of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his
only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is
love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the
propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love
one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God
dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.” (1 John 4:7-12)
Today’s Morsel: One
of the lessons that Jesus stressed when He was upon the earth was love for
others. But of course, we know that His commandment was that we should love our
neighbor as ourselves. John says that we should love one another because God
first loved us. If we do not value God’s love for us, chances are we will not
love others. We received God’s love freely and He says that we should give
freely. We should not expect others to love us because we love them. They
should, but chances are they may not. But you are not to be like everyone else.
You are to be like Jesus. As Paul said, let this mind be in you which was
also in Christ Jesus. Beloved,
if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
Sing: Loving
God, loving each other, making music with my friends. Loving God, loving each
other, and the story never ends.
Thought For Today: “By this shall all men know that ye
are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:35)
