The Holy Ghost
“And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.” (Acts 19:1-6)
Today’s Morsel: Have you received the Holy Ghost since you have believed? You know, there are a lot of believers in the world, but many of them have never received the Holy Ghost because some of them have never heard of the importance of the Holy Ghost for their life. And because some folks have never received it themselves, they tell people that it is of the devil, was for the apostles, or it was just for that time. Jesus told his disciples: “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you... “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14:16-18, 26) Again, after his death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus told them: “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) The Holy Ghost gives us the power and the authority to operate in the name of Jesus. Throughout the book of Acts (Acts 2:1-4, Acts 8:14-19, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 11:1-16, Acts 19:1-6), we see many that were filled with the Holy Ghost, and Peter said that this promise is for all. The New Testament Church is for the now. The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God. It’s not the second or third person in the Godhead, it is God’s Spirit for you right now. And God wants His Spirit to be in you. As if any man, Paul said, have not the Spirit of Christ, He is none of His (Romans 8:9). Have you received the Holy Ghost since you have believed. It is for you today.
Sing: I’ve got the Holy Ghost, down in my soul, just like the Bible said. I’ve got the Holy Ghost, down in my soul, just like the Bible said. Well, I’ve been to the water, and I’ve been baptized in Jesus name, my soul got happy and I’m, so satisfied. I wouldn’t take nothing for my journey now, just like the Bible, just like the Bible, just like the Bible said.
