The Message
“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5)
Today’s Morsel: From Genesis to Revelation, one message rings true, God is light. It was what God created on Day One. It was what God called the day (Genesis 1:5). Light! It was what the apostle Paul called the children of God (1 Thessalonians 5:5), Light! And it was what the apostle of John called as the message. God is light! Again, John says: “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)” (1 John 1:1-2) From the creation of the world, this was the message for all to heed. This was the message for all to understand. The Word of life and the life was the light of men. For the life was manifested. “And without controversy, Paul said, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” (1 Timothy 3:16) God was revealed in flesh (John1:14), The light stepped into His creation in the body as a man to seek and to save that which was lost. As Jesus said: “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12) Did you receive the message?
Sing: Light of the world You stepped down into darkness, opened my eyes made me see. Beauty that made this heart adore you, hope for a life spent with You.
Here I am to worship, here I am to bow down, here I am to say that You’re my God. You’re altogether lovely, altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me.
