Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 31 August 2022

 Are You Troubled?

Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
(2 Thessalonians 1:6-11)

Today’s Morsel: As the world gets more and more evil, it will become easier for you to be more troubled and concerned about what you see taking place in this world. Therefore, you must not lose focus of who you are, and what God has called you to be, know, and do. Paul states that if you are troubled, rest with us, so that when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints.  They may poke fun at you for being a Christian now, but when they see Jesus, they will wish that they had heeded the warning.  Stand strong in Christ and the power of His might.

Sing: Oh, my brother, are you ready for the call, to crown your Savior King and Lord of All.  The kingdoms of this world, shall soon before Him fall.  We shall see the King when He comes.

We shall see the King, we shall see the King, we shall see the King when He comes.  He’s coming in His Power, we’ll hail the blessed hour.  We shall see the King when He comes.

Thought For Today: You can always find rest in Jesus.
