Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 20 August 2022

 Just An Ordinary Day

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.(Acts 2:1-4)

Today’s Morsel: It was just an ordinary day on February 20, 1962, when Astronaut John Glenn orbited the earth. It was just an ordinary day on November 22, 1963, in Dallas Texas, President John Kennedy was assassinated. It was just an ordinary day, in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 4, 1968, when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, was assassinated. It was just an ordinary day on September 11, 2001, when two aircraft, flown by terrorists, flew into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, in New York, causing the death of approximately 3,000 people. It was just an ordinary day, in the late spring of A.D. 30, while the disciples were in the upper room praying and worshipping God, that suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting, and there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. What was the day like when you received the Holy Ghost? I bet it was just an ordinary day.

Sing: This is the day, this is the day, that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made.  I will rejoice, I will rejoice and be glad in it, and be glad in it.  This is the day that the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.  This is the day, this is the day, that the Lord hath made.

Thought For Today: If you have never received the Holy Ghost,  it is going to be just an ordinary day when you do.  It could even be on this ordinary day!

  1. I am thankful for the ordinary days when life shifted according to Almighty God and awareness came that things will be different now.
