Increase Your Knowledge
“That ye might walk
worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and
increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to
his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving
thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the
inheritance of the saints in light”
(Colossians 1:10-12)
Today’s Morsel: How much do you know
about Jesus? Do you get upset when someone says something to you that you do
not like? Do you have a problem with healthy confrontation? Do you have trouble
with people who are unethical? What about those who reject your invitation to
come to know more about Jesus? How do you deal with politicians that keep
lying? Well, if you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, or
others drive you nuts, increase your knowledge about Christ and His word.
“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For
men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural
affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of
those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than
lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from
such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead
captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning,
and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth… Yea, and all that will
live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers
shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” (2 Timothy 3:1-7, 12-13) “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall
say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be
exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the
prophets which were before you.” (Matthew 5:11-12)
Keep reading and studying your Bible and you won’t be so soon
shaken.
Sing: I’ve got a made-up mind, I’ve got a
final destination, I’m gonna keep on pressing on, to my final
destination. I’m gonna burn all the bridges behind me, break all the ties
that bind me. I’m gonna keep on pressing on, till I reach that home sweet
home, that New Jerusalem.
Thought For Today: “Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil
shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have
tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown
of life.”
(Revelation 2:10)
