Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 31 March 2022

 Depression, Stress, and Anxiety

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.”
(2 Corinthians 4:7-10)

Today’s Morsel: I have come to realize that people who say that they are depressed, stressed, and filled with anxiety want to be that way. You ask me why I know that? Because they will tell you that that is what they are dealing with. If you know that you are depressed, stressed, or filled with anxiety, then you should know that you need to do something about it. If you just sit there it’s going to get worse.  These things are an indicator of loss of focus, being around the wrong people, listening continuously to evil, and you allowing the wrong people to speak into your life. The word of God has already given you the antidote for these things when they come into your life. Scripture says, “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:4-7) Make up your mind to serve Jesus and the devil will flee.

Sing: Who is this who for our sorrow offers comfort and relief? Bringing sunshine to the dark and shadowed life.   Saying softly cease repining lift thou soul above its grief, let the peace pass understanding still the strife.

It is Jesus, Jesus, sad ones weep no more. He will heal the brokenhearted, open wide the prison door; He is able to deliver evermore.

Thought For Today: “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” (Jude 1:20-21)
