Faith Kills Fear If You Believe
“And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” (Mark 4:35-41)
Today’s Morsel: Throughout scripture we are told to not fear. We know that fear is just False Evidence Appearing Real. But it is one of the weapons that Satan employs to defeat us. And sad to say, two of greatest fears that he uses are the fear of death and the fear of others. The only way you will ever defeat fear is to walk by faith and not by sight. Fear will frighten you and cause you to go into a deep state of self-torment. Fear oftentimes will cause a negative reaction instead of a positive reaction. Nail biting, sleepless nights, excessive use of medication, and overeating. Fear will zap you of your energy and strength. When the disciples thought that they were going to die because of the storm, Jesus rebuked the wind and the waves, and then He asked His disciples why they were fearful and did not have any faith. If you want to kill fear in your life, then you must have faith within yourself to believe that you are an overcomer, and nothing will defeat you.
Sing: Faith can move mountains, mountains of fear and of doubt. Faith can move mountains so, why don’t you try your faith out.
Thought For Today: “And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.” (Luke 1:30)
