Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2024 January 13

 Jesus Paid It All

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

Today’s Morsel: The story is told of a man that was very hungry. And he had no money. But he had heard a message at church that Jesus had paid it all. So he went into a restaurant and ordered a huge meal. The man dined well. When the waiter brought him the bill, the man wrote on the bill, already pain in full, Jesus paid it all (humor). I suggest that you do not try this. But then again, it might work since we walk by faith and not by sight. John 3:16, is a verse that expresses God’s love toward us. Jesus told Nicodemus that God gave His Son so that others would not perish. Jesus Christ was the spotless Lamb to take away our sins. Yes, He paid the price for our sins at Calvary. With His death, He defeated sin. This is why when we die through repentance, it is also supposed to defeat sin in our lives. Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we could live and enjoy newness of life and then later eternal life. The only cost is that you must believe it and accept it and live it.

Sing:  Jesus paid it all; all to Him I owe; sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.

Thought For Today: For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins...” (Hebrews 10:26)
