Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2024 January 24

 Are You Enjoying Life?

“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.”

(John 5:39-40)

Today’s Morsel: One of the reasons that Jesus told Nicodemus for His coming to the earth was so that people might have eternal life (John 3:16). But sad to say, some folks will spend their enter life on earth and will never live. They will only exist. They will spend 50, 60, 70, 80, and in some cases 90 years here on earth and will never live. Even today, there are many so called Christians that are not living but only existing. They go to church two or three time each week, go home, turn on the TV, plop down at the computer, go to bed, get up and go to work, and repeat the same old cycle repeatedly. That my friend is existing not living. Living is when you get wrapped up in Jesus and allow Him to direct your steps throughout the course of your day. It is taking the word that you hear on Sunday and Wednesday, or whenever you go to church, and sowing that seed into the heart of others. Living is knowing that you have been born-again and are now on your way to heaven to be with Jesus. Living is setting a vision for yourself and some goals and striving to see those come to fruition. Peter said “Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 2:1-5) We are to be lively stones not dead ones.

Sing: I’m gonna praise the Lord anyway that I can. I’m gonna praise the Lord anyway that I can. I’m gonna praise Him in the morning, praise Him all day long, I’m gonna praise the Lord anyway that I can.

Thought For Today: Why don’t you start acting like your coat tail is on fire, or a wasp just went down the back of your blouse.
