Grow
“And account that the
longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also
according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all
his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard
to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do
also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved,
seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with
the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace,
and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both
now and for ever. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:15-18)
Today’s Morsel: One of the things
that scripture calls for us to do is to grow in Christ. We must not remain
in the same state as when we first believed. We must move on to perfection.
Some folks have not left home base yet. There are some that have never
told anyone about Jesus. There are those that have never taught a Bible Study.
There are those that don’t know how many books are in the Bible, who the 12
apostles were, and if you were to ask them who killed Goliath, they will
probably say, Covid or the Russians. If someone were to ask you, as the jailer
asked Paul and Silas, “Sirs what must I do to be saved?” What would you tell
them? If it is not a daily joy for you to serve Christ, chances are you are not
growing. Because the Bible says: “…But the people that do know their God shall
be strong and do exploits.” (Daniel 11:32) Continue to search and to grow
daily in your walk with Jesus.
Sing: What a mighty God we serve, what a
mighty God we serve; angels bow before Him, heaven and earth adore Him, what a
mighty God we serve.
Thought For Today: “But sanctify the
Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man
that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” (1
Peter 3:15)
