Steadfastness
“But,
beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our
Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last
time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate
themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. But ye, beloved, building up
yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves
in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal
life.” (Jude
1:17-21)
Today’s Morsel: What
do you do to keep yourself in the love of God? Do you read His words, embrace
His grace and mercy, and show His love to others? Just what do you do?
One of the goals of the enemy is to dislodge you from your love and
relationship with God. But Jude admonishes us to keep ourselves in the love of
God. We know that God loves us because God is love. And there should be no
doubt in any of our minds of this truth. The way we retain that love is
to love Him the same way that He loves us and to thank Him daily for the
unmerited love He has given to us. If anything can pull you away from God, then
you were never rooted and grounded in God and in His love.
Sing: I’m
standing on the Rock of Ages, safe from all the storms that rage, rich but not
of Satan’s wages, I’m standing on the Solid Rock.
Thought For Today: “No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one
another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.” (1 John 4:12)
