Resist The Devil
“Submit yourselves
therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
Today’s Morsel: Okay, most saints in
the church understand that once you become a Christian you have an adversary
called the devil. Some may call him Lucifer, Satan, the dragon, the deceiver of
the brethren. You can call him whatever name you want to give him. He has
no power over you. The only power he has over you is what you give to him. If
you do not resist him, he will defeat you. James tells us to submit yourselves
therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from us. If you are one of
those who must repent every day, you are not submitted to God. If you are one
of those who feel as though everything that is coming after you is from the
devil, then you are not submitted to God. If you are one of those who likes to
read books about demons and witchcraft, you are not submitted to God. Yes, we
are in a war, but Jesus has already won the battle. So the next time Satan
comes around just remind him where he is going and live your life on the earth
with joy and contentment in Christ.
Sing: I command you Satan in the name of the
Lord to pick up your weapons and flee, for God has given me the authority to
walk all over thee.
Thought For Today: “And he said
unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” (Luke 10:18)
