Sin
“Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it
in the lusts thereof.” (Romans 6:12)
Today’s Morsel: From creation,
sin found its way into the Garden of Eden and it has not ceased to destroy many
lives on a day-to-day basis. At one point, sin was hidden. But now
it is open and unconcealed for all to see. Profanity. Sexual
perversion. Sexual innuendos. Lust. Murder.
Fornication. Adultery. Lying, cheating, and corruption. Rebellion.
Satan is not hiding who he is nor what his desires are. He is in your
face with sin. Therefore, it should not be hard for anyone who says that
they are a Christian to avoid being drawn into it. Yet sad to say, many
are still blind to it. They think that it is okay to partake of
sin. But as Paul warns us that the wages of sin is death. You must
not allow sin to reign in your mortal body. You are the temple of the Holy
Ghost which is in you, and God will not dwell in an unclean temple. You
must do everything that you can to keep sin out and Christ in. Do not
give Satan an inch or he will take a mile. The worst day for Samson was
the day he awakened and was not aware that the Spirit had left him. Keep
sin out. You do not want to hear the trumpet sounding from heaven and
find that the Spirit has departed from you and you knew it not because
sin was in your life. Since grace reigns in you, sin should not,
seeing that you are dead to sin; you are baptized into the death of Christ and
are dead with Him. You are alive through him, therefore sin should
not reign in you, and over you. The Holy Ghost was given to you to help
you avoid sin.
Sing: He took my sins away! He
took my sins away! And He keeps me singing every day. I’m so glad,
He took my sins away, He took my sins away.
Thought For Today: Sin should not have
dominion over you.
