Watch and Pray
“And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith
unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye
enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:40-41)
Today’s Morsel: One of the
surest ways to test your spiritual growth is to test your prayer life. Do
you complain because your pastor asks you to be at church prayer? Do you
become tense and fearful when they start to take prayer requests and you think
they may call on you to pray? Do you hesitate to pray for your food in
public? When someone asks you to pray about a situation, do you tell them
let us pray right now or do you say, “I will pray for you?” Prayer must
be a Christian’s joy button. Being given an opportunity to intercede on behalf
of someone else should cause excitement in our lives. Most people who are
depressed and stressed can change that feeling if they pray. Jesus always began
his day with prayer. Marriages fall apart because couples will not pray.
If we do not watch and pray, we will not stay.
Sing: Someone is praying for you, someone is
praying for you, when you feel all alone, and your heart would break in two,
remember someone is praying for you.
Thought For Today. Try early morning
prayer and your day will go better.
