Are You Satisfied?
“The horseleach hath
two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never
satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough: The grave; and the barren
womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, It
is enough.” (Proverbs 30:15-16)
Today’s
Morsel: Paul said that one of the signs of the last
days would be that people would not be thankful. Usually when people
are not content and satisfied it is because they are unthankful. Someone said that dissatisfaction is caused by having
too much or accomplishing
things too fast. It has been stated that most people
who are somewhat fast achievers, if not challenged properly, will quickly become dissatisfied and see work and schooling as
boring. Solomon states that there are certain things which are
never satisfied. They are the grave; and the barren womb; the earth that
is not filled with water; and the fire that saith not, it is enough. What
about you, are you satisfied with who you are and what God is doing in your
life? If you want satisfaction, Jesus says, “ But seek ye first the
kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto
you” (Matthew 6:33).
Paul states, “Not that I
speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith
to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound:
everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry,
both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which
strengtheneth me.”
(Philippians 4:11-13) Satisfaction is just
another word for contentment!
Sing: If you're happy and you know it, say
amen, Amen; If you’re happy and you know it, say amen, amen; When God’s Spirit
falls on you, makes you shout Hallelujah; If you're happy and you know it say
amen; Amen!
Thought For Today: Be content!
