Are You IN The Body?
“For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many.” (1 Corinthians 12:12-14)
Today’s Morsel: The one factor that places us in the body of Christ is not what denomination we belong to, or what church we attend, nor who we know, it is the Holy Ghost. Paul said, “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” (Romans 8:9) God’s Spirit is what each of us need to place us into the body of Christ. The same way that God commanded the children of Israel to place a blue fringe in the skirts of their garments to identify them as Jews, the Holy Ghost, with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues as the spirit gives the utterance, is what places us into the body of Christ. This is the sign that you have receive the spirit of God. You may say, I don’t believe that. Well, how did they receive it on the Day of Pentecost: “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:1-4) How did the Jews that went with Peter to Cornelius’ house know that the Gentiles had received the Holy Ghost? Scripture says: “While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.” (Acts 10:44-48) Don’t take my word for it, read your Bible. Are you in the body? You should have no question; God will give you the same sign as He did on the day of Pentecost.
Sing: I’ve got the Holy Ghost, down in my soul, just like the Bible said. I’ve got the Holy Ghost, down in my soul, just like the Bible said. Well, I’ve been to the water, and I’ve been baptized in Jesus’ name, my soul got happy and I’m so satisfied. I wouldn’t take nothing for my journey now, just like the Bible, just like the Bible, just like the Bible said.
