An Inheritance Without Wisdom

Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 7:11)

Today’s Morsel: I have heard and seen many people who have lost their inheritance because they did not have wisdom. I have gone to estate sales and seen items being sold by children that I know they have no knowledge what they are getting rid of at such a cheap price. Today, because most folks don’t eat at home, children are getting rid of their parents hard earned living. Things such as china sets, furniture, homes, and farms are being gotten rid of because they don’t understand the value. I told a guy once that he had better keep the land that his father had left to him because God isn’t making anymore. Esau never considered the value of his birthright until he realized that he had given it away for a bowl of bean soup. Scripture says that the prodigal son wasted his father’s living on harlots. He didn’t value what he had until it was gone, and he found himself in the hog’s pen. Solomon says that wisdom is good with an inheritance. If you inherit a million dollars and you don’t have the wisdom to know how to use it, you can wake up without a thing to show for it. And sad to say, some folks have inherited their parents and grandparents church, Bible, or business, and they have wasted it all due to a lack of wisdom, knowledge and understanding.  Don’t be one of those who finds themselves weeping and crying because you got rid of what you thought was invaluable, only to realize that you have given away your valuable inheritance.  Cherish what is being handed down to you, especially if it is a Godly heritage.

Sing: Deep, deeper, in the love of Jesus, daily let me go. Higher, higher in the school of wisdom, more of grace to know.

O’ deeper yet, I pray, and higher every day. And wiser, blessed Lord, in Thy precious holy word.
