The Garment of Praise for The Spirit of Heaviness
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.” (Isaiah 61:1-3)
Today’s Morsel: Attitude plays a big part in all our lives if we are going to be successful or not. How we tackle each day is determined by our mindset. We can be victorious or defeated by our thinking. Are you aware that God chose you to tell others about Him? Think about this. We have Him living inside of us and others may not. Therefore, it is essential that we share what we have been given with others. Jesus said, “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” (John 15:16) Jesus wants you to be fruitful, but if you don’t put on your garment of praise on each day, you are going to be filled with heaviness. In other words, you are going to see life and the ministry as dull, old, despondent, serious, and something that will weigh you down mentally, and you aren’t going to care about others or yourself. God just don’t call us and leave us to fend for ourselves, He always gives us the things that we need to be successful. Keep the garment of praise on, and you will see each day in a new and brighter light.
Sing: This is the day, this is the day that the Lord has made, that the Lord has made. I will rejoice, I will rejoice, and be glad in it, and be glad in it. This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it, this is the day, this is the day, that the Lord has made.
