Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2023 Dec 18

Joy Cometh In The Morning

“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” (Psalms 30:5)

Today’s Morsel: Did you get up this morning with joy and excitement in your step? The psalmist said that joy cometh in the morning. If you went to church yesterday to worship God, then when you left, you were supposed to leave a different way. Now if you left church excited and filled with joy, then when you awoke this morning, that same joy ought to have been there. Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. And since He changes not, we aren’t supposed to let anything steal our joy because it came with the Holy Ghost, which was given to us. Now if you are picking low cotton this morning, then you must ask yourself, what happened to my joy? You see, life can try to steal many things from you, but there is something inside you called the Holy Ghost that protects your mind from allowing that to happen. Nehemiah said that the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10) So, don’t lose it.  Hold on tight to it.  See that no man steals your crown, Jesus said.

Sing: I have found His grace is all complete, He supplies my every need. While sit and learn at Jesus feet, I am free yes free in deeded.

It is joy unspeakable and full of glory, full of glory, full of glory. It is joy unspeakable and full of glory; Oh the half has never been told.
