Injustice
“My
brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. For if there
come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there
come in also a poor man in vile raiment; And ye have respect to him that
weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and
say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: Are ye not
then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?” (James 2:1-4)
Today’s Morsel: Injustice
should never be in a church where people say that they are born again. Jesus
told His disciples that men would know that they were His disciples by their
love toward others. Jesus knew that injustice would try to enter the church to
cause disunity. And so He implemented the golden rule, “Therefore all things
whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this
is the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 7:12) Jesus also stated when asked about
which was the greatest commandment said, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with
all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first
and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the
prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40) Jesus gave us the tools to crush injustice but we
have to use them by applying them to our lives first. They are the ‘Ten
Commandments and the Golden Rule’ “Injustice anywhere is a
threat to justice everywhere”, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Sing: I
want to live the way He wants me to live. I want to give until there’s just no
more to give. I want to love, love till there’s just no more love, I could
never, never outlove the Lord.
Thought For Today: “He
hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee,
but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Micah
6:8)
