What Time Is It?
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the
heaven:”
(Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Today’s Morsel: Throughout the
day, most people will hear someone ask, “What time is it?” Why are folks
concerned about the time? We plan our day based on time. Physicians
see us based on time. Repairmen charge us based on time. The writer
of Hebrews stated, “For when for
the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God;
and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.” (Hebrews 5:12)
Have you considered that it might be time for you to get involved in ministry
and start teaching others? Paul wrote to Timothy, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.” (2 Timothy 3:1) Is
there danger around you? Are we in the last days? Is the time
running out? What time is it? “And that,
knowing the time, (Paul
said) that now it is
high time to awake out of sleep: for now is
our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is
at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the
armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and
drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But
put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.” (Romans 13:11-14); “For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of
salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time;
behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2) Don’t allow the world to lull you to sleep so that you don’t
know what time it is. And don’t get so busy that you don’t have time for
others. Especially Jesus.
Sing: Time is filled with
swift transition, naught of earth unmoved can stand. Build your hopes on
things eternal, hold to God’s unchanging hand!
Hold to God’s unchanging hand! Hold to God’s
unchanging hand! Build your hopes on things eternal; hold to God’s unchanging
hand!
Thought For Today: “He hath made everything
beautiful in his time.” (Ecclesiastes
3:11)
