Doctrinal Confusion
“Now
I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary
to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such
serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and
fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.” (Romans 16:17-18)
Today’s Morsel: I have come to realize in the church that
anytime there is doctrinal confusion, there will be moral confusion as well. When there is a
lack of apostolic doctrine being taught, there will be a lack of holiness and
godly living being taught.
When churches compromise on doctrine, they will also compromise on morality. The world is
confused, and people’s lives are being turned upside down due to a lack of apostolic
doctrine being taught in the churches. If we
want to see the world's problems fixed, the church must teach the original
doctrine delivered to the saints. Paul saw this same problem in his
day, and so he told Timothy: “I charge thee therefore
before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead
at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of
season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the
time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own
lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they
shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned
unto fables.” (2
Timothy 4:1-4) Don’t compromise on apostolic doctrine or your life will be
turned into a mess and you will miss heaven. “How shall we escape, if we
neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord,
and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them
witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of
the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?” (Hebrews 2:3-4) Go back
to the original doctrine to straighten out the problems in our society and in
your life.
Sing:
Let me walk in the light, in that great Gospel light; let me walk in the gospel
light. Till my journey is over and I travel no more, let me walk in the
gospel light.
