Don’t Forget God
“And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgat the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves. Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years.” (Judges 3:7-8)
Today’s Morsel: How do you start
your day? What are some of the first things that you do when you wake-up? If
you do not begin with praising, or giving God thanks, it will soon take root
and you will forget God. They say that most people who backslide stop praying
first, stop reading their Bible second, and stop giving of themselves to God
third. Moses had admonished Israel in Deuteronomy 6:4-13 not to forget
God. He had told them that the land that God was giving them was a land flowing
with milk and honey and a good land. And therefore, they must not forget God.
But they did not heed his advice. What about you? Have you forgotten God? Is
God still the number one love in your life? Do you still love Him as much as
you did when He first brought you out of darkness unto His marvelous light? Do
you find yourself thinking about not going to church or giving to the Lord? If
the latter is true, then you are starting to forget God. Don’t ever
forget God, for without Him you can do nothing.
Sing: I love Him, I love Him, because He first
Loved me, He purchased my salvation on Calvary.
Thought For Today: “The wicked shall be
turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” (Psalms 9:17)
