The Kingdom of God Is In Power
“But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not
the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power. For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. What will ye? shall
I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?” (1 Corinthians 4:19-21)
Today’s Morsel: Writing to the
church at Corinth, which some think was his problem church, Paul stated, “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of
man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith
should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:4-5); He told the church at Rome, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and
peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” (Romans 14:17) God’s kingdom is in power. The
church must be filled with His power. Whether operating in the fruit or
gifts of the Spirit, the church must be filled with power. If people say
that they are born again of the water and the spirit, then the church must be
full of power. If deliverance, healing, holiness, and righteousness are
not in operation in the church, then it is not of God’s kingdom. Because
His kingdom and authority come with power to cause changes. Any man or
woman who says that they are called of God into the ministry must understand
that the kingdom is with power. Your authority must reflect God’s
power. Paul asked the church at Corinth if they would rather that he show
up with a rod for correction or in love and meekness? He wanted them to
know that he had the power to do either. When the kingdom of God is in
you, you too have power and authority.
Sing: There is power, power,
wonder-working power, in the blood of the Lamb. There is power, power,
wonder-working power, in the precious blood of the Lamb.
Thought For Today: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me
to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to
preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to
set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the
Lord.”
(Luke 4:18-19)
