Faith
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of
God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to
the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to
faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1:16-17)
Today’s Morsel: If you were asked
where your faith is on a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being greatest, what would
be your answer? When we observe the apostles of Jesus in the gospels, they are
in training and so their faith is not expected to be strong. But after
they are filled with the Holy Ghost on the Day of Pentecost, their faith seems
to be more prevalent for others to see. We see the same thing in the Old
Testament with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and others. After a strong
encounter with God, and God working through them, their faith grew, and their
faith was prevalent for others to see. Hebrews Chapter 11 gives us an
open view of how some of their lives were changed by and through their
faith. Let me share with you a few ways to grow your faith:
1. Witness to someone
2. Talk to your
waiter or waitress about church the next time you are out for lunch or dinner
3. Pray and ask
God what He would have you give in the next mission's service and do not
question the amount. Remember, Faith Promise is between you and God.
4. Do something that you
are afraid to do. If you are afraid to ride in an elevator, ride one
while you sing a praise song.
5. Ask your pastor if
you can read the church announcements or take up the offering? Ask if it
is alright if you clean the church or mow the church lawn.
6. Ask your pastor if
you can lead the church in prayer.
7. Cook a meal for
someone in the church and surprise them with it.
8. The next time someone
asks you to pray for them, do it right there with them. Do not wait to pray
later.
9. Try living out
your favorite scripture.
10. You fill in the blank for this one :-)
These things may not seem like much, but they can help grow
your faith.
Sing: My God is bigger than all my
questions, bigger than all my fears, yes, He's bigger than any mountain that I
can or cannot see.
Thought For Today: A little faith is
just as good as any other faith.
