Be Ye Ready
“And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.” (Luke 12:39-40)
Today’s Morsel: One of the lessons that I learned in the military was that you always had to be ready, as you never knew if the order was going to come that you needed to go take out some bad guys. So daily, soldiers are always in a preparedness state. Each day when they report for duty, they train and prepare for the unexpected. They want to ensure that their equipment and understanding of doctrine are settled in their minds. As born-again believers, there should never be any doubt in your mind if you are ready for Jesus’ return. Daily, you ought to be reading your Bible, witnessing, and living as if Jesus could come at any moment. You should not get caught off guard, because He’s already told us to be ready.
Sing: Well, I’m getting ready to leave this place, I’m getting ready for those gates of pearls. Keeping my record right, watching both day and night; Well I’m getting ready to leave this place.
Thought For Today: “Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.” (Luke 12:37)
