Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2024 August 9

God is With Us

“With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.” (2 Chronicles 32:8)

Today’s Morsel: When we become born-again, we become a part of the family of God. And that means that as long as we walk according to the Word of God, God is with us.  As Paul told the church at Colossi: “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:” (Colossians 1:10-13) When Matthew put pen to the paper he wrote: “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” (Matthew 1:23) Knowing that God is with us ought to encourage us to daily live, act, and conduct ourselves in a way that is always pleasing to Him and to others. We represent His family.

Sing: Immanuel, Immanuel, His name is called, Immanuel. God with us, revealed in us, His name is called, Immanuel.

Thought For Today: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)
