Newness of Life
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” (Romans 6:1-4)
Today’s Morsel: One of the greatest blessings that comes with being born again, is newness of life. A brand-new life. Every wrong that we did prior is now washed away through the blood of Jesus Christ. This new life should reflect you trading in your old jalopy and getting a brand-new car. You get to start all over afresh and anew. Your new life now affords you the opportunity to do better, be better, and accomplish something great with your life. It affords you the opportunity to work for Jesus, teach others about Him, and share with others what He has done for you. Your new life is given to you so that you can make right choices and right decisions without things hanging over your head. You can now walk with your head up and not worry about what others may think or say about you. You have been raised from the dead. So, the next time someone accuses you of your past, just tell them that you are a new creature in Christ Jesus. You have no past!
Sing: I’ve found a new way of living, I have a new life divine; I have the Fruit of the Spirit, I am abiding, abiding, in the vine. Abiding, in the vine, abiding in the vine, love, joy, health, peace, He has made them mine; I have prosperity, power and victory, abiding, abiding, in the vine.
Thought For Today: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
