A Recall to Self
“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.”
(2 Corinthians 13:5-6)
Today’s Morsel: Every so often, we need to stop and take inventory of our lives to ensure that we are not straying away from the faith. Many people wonder why people who at one time had strong faith in God, but now are backslidden and back in the world without hope, depressed, stressed, lonely, and filled with anxiety. Most wonder what went wrong. Well, the answer lies in that they did not examine themselves often to ensure that they were living and walking in the faith. You see, there are daily things that you must do as a Christian, so you can stay in the way called straight. Things such as prayer, reading your Bible, witnessing, and attending church. These must be daily habits in your life, or it is easy to get off course. When is the last time you’ve quote the books of the Bible to yourself from memorization? When is the last time you shared your faith with someone else that is not in the church? When is the last time you testified at church? Do you read your Bible daily, on a regular basis? If it’s been a long time, you are getting off course and you need a self-recall. Jesus needs you to be committed for what He is going to use you to do in these last days. I encourage you to make your calling and election sure!
Sing: Change my heart, O’ God, make it ever true. Change my heart, O’ God, may I be like You.
