Don’t Ever Give Up On Life

“And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, why sit we here until we die? If we say, we will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.”
(2 Kings 7:3-4)

Today’s Morsel: There are those who give up on life too quickly. There are many who, because of hardships, loneliness, low self-esteem, and rejection, give up on life and see no reason to live. But these things should not cause you to give up on life. Life is challenging and you must learn how to live it and enjoy it. A lot of our hardships and loneliness can be caused by us. We can sometimes be our own worst enemy. Life is not a problem to be solved, it is a beauty to be lived. One of the four lepers saw a reason to live instead of die. He realized something that the others may not have considered. He said, Look, if we say, we will enter the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die. Notice, he said let’s go to the Syrians, the worst thing that can happen is they kill us. But if we sit here or go into the city we are going to die anyway. So, I’m taking my chances to live. They just might feed us. And when they made a move, God made a move for them. Don’t give up on life. The next move you make to live may be the turnaround for your new life. Therefore, you shouldn’t ever give up on life.  Life is a gift to be enjoyed and cherished.

Sing: Who is this who comes with healing for the halt, the blind, the lame, saying softly to the sinner follow Me.  Only come in faith believing as of old the people came, and the lame shall walk the blind again shall see?

It is Jesus, Jesus, sad ones weep no more, He will heal the brokenhearted, open wide the prison door, He is able to deliver evermore.

Thought For Today: You’ll never know how close you were until you quit.
