Pure Thoughts
“Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment.” (Ecclesiastes 9:8)
Today’s Morsel: One of the most important things that we must work on when we become born-again is that of our character. That which causes us to standout and attract others to Christ. A pure character is guided by pure thoughts from the Holy Ghost. John states: “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.” (1 John 2:27) Jesus said: “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” (John 16:13). The Holy Ghost serves as a teacher, tutor, and counsellor, to guide us and to lead us into becoming more and more like Jesus. You want your mind to be clear, clean, and pure. You don’t want evil, confusion, and unrighteous thoughts to be in you. As Jesus said, “There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man…. And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.” (Mark 7:15, 20-23) You must purge your mind daily to keep impure thoughts out. David prayed, “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalms 139:23-24) Purity of heart and thoughts begin with allowing the Holy Ghost to lead and teach you. If you are dealing with a troubled mind and your thoughts, get back to the altar and let the Holy Ghost redirect you.
Sing: Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you washed in the blood, in the soul cleansing blood of the Lamb? Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow? Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Thought For Today: “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8)
