Blessed
“Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD. The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.” (Psalms 128:1-6)
Today’s Morsel: I think that most folks do like the blessings of God. I don’t think there is anyone that would refuse to accept what God is giving them when it comes to God’s blessings. When they were about to enter the Promised Land, Moses told the children of Israel: “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store. Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.” (Deuteronomy 28:1-6) What a promise, and our God has not changed. He is still in the blessing business to those who will listen and obey His voice and word. God wants us to be blessed as His children. The Psalmist said: “Blessed is everyone that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.” (Psalms 128:1) When we show God reverence, respect, and obedience, He blesses us. If you don’t feel as though you are blessed and are being blessed by God, then stop and ask yourself why not. God is no respecter of persons you know. So if God is blessing others and not you, examine yourself to find out why. You don’t want to go through life missing out on what God has promised you.
Sing: I am blessed! I am blessed! Every day that I live, I am blessed. When I wake up in the morning, until I lay my head to rest, I am blessed, I am blessed.
Thought For Today: Blessings flows where obedience dwells.
