Living In The Overflow

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” (Psalms 23:1-6)

Today’s Morsel: Jesus said that He has come to give us life and that more abundant (John 10:10). When is the last time you’ve checked your life to see if you are living in the overflow. Is God more than enough for you? Or do you still feel as though you are missing something? When Christ told Paul, My grace is sufficient for you, he even stopped asking for his thorn to be removed. He simply said, I will live with this because when I am weak then am I strong. Paul felt that he could endure in the overflow of God’s grace and not worry about his pain and suffering. You see, when you live in the overflow, you never stop praising God for His goodness, mercy and truth. David lived in the overflow. Psalm 23 is just one of those psalms that he wrote to express God’s blessings in his life with overflow. For example, he says, The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. Right out of the gate he lets us know that God is going to take care of him, no matter what. Paul informs us, “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:11-13) He said, I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. You don’t have to worry about want. Look around you. You probably have more right before your eyes then you will ever need or use.  Paul concludes, “But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:18-19) He said that God would supply our need. Paul was living in the overflow of God’s grace, mercy, and provisions, because he knew that there is no end nor limit to God’s goodness. How do you live your life each day? Are you living in the overflow?

Sing: My God is more than enough, He shall supply all my need, He is my El-Shaddai, He always look after me; Jehovah-Jireh, He is my God. So, why should I worry about the highs and the lows, the ups and the downs, when by my faith I know, My God is more than enough, He shall supply all my need, He is my El-Shaddai, He always look after me, Jehovah-Jireh, He is my God.

Thought For Today“The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” (Psalms 24:1)
