No Tears In Heaven
“And I saw a new
heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed
away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her
husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle
of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people,
and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away
all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow,
nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are
passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things
new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” (Revelation 21:1-5)
Today’s Morsel: I like the
book of Revelation. It is called the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
John, who is credited with writing this book, seems to use much imagery and
pictures in this book to make us think. I like how he portrays Jesus as
the coming King on a white horse, and those with Him are clothed in white
linen, which is the righteousness of saints. And in today’s passage, he
opens heaven for our viewing. He said, “And I saw a new heaven and a new
earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was
no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God
out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great
voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he
will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be
with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall
there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat
upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, write
for these words are true and faithful.” One of the things that we come to
learn and realize about this Christian journey is that here we have disappointment,
sadness, loneliness, stress, despair, and rejection. And sometimes these
things can cause us to weep and cry. But John enlightens us that God
shall wipe away all tears from our eyes; and there shall be no more death, nor
sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things
are passed away. So, keep pressing on. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy
will someday come.
Sing: No tears in heaven, no crying in
Glory, all God’s children will be happy, don’t you see. No pain, no
sorrow, no more worrying about tomorrow, no pain in heaven for you and me.
Thought For Today: Weeping may endure
for the night, but joy comes in the morning.
