2013 July 1 - Morning Manna

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day"(Genesis 1:1-8)

Today's Morsel: Someone said that the first mention of baseball is found in the first verse of Genesis, 'In the big inning' (Beginning). Humor.   Don't know if it has to do with baseball, but God sure hit a home run.
When we really look closely at the first chapter of the Bible, we see salvation in its inception.  God's plan was to divide light from darkness.  Paul said that we are the children of the day and not of the night (1Thessolonia's 5:4-5). Because God is light, everyone that is born again is to walk in that light (1 John 1:5).  The first day you became born again is the first day of your new life.  The same way God divided light from darkness and it became the first day, your new birth was a new day for you.  And now, "If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin" (1 John 1:7).   As John said,  " I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth" (3 John 1:4).

SingLight of the world You stepped down into darkness, Opened my eyes let me see.  Beauty that made this heart adore You , hope of a life spent with You

Chorus:  Here I am to worship, Here I am to bow down, here I am to say that You're my God.  You're altogether lovely, altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me.
