Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 2024 February 10

Who Is Your Closest Relatives?

“Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:” (Proverbs 7:4)

Today’s Morsel: There’s an old saying that blood is thicker than water. In other words, relationships and loyalties within a family are the strongest and most important ones.  Your relationship with family ought to be more important than with other relationships and needs. Solomon said that we ought to say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:  For what purpose do we need wisdom and understanding? He says: “That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.” (Proverbs 7:5) Sometimes we may think that strange women go after men. But in some cases, they lie and go after women. Therefore, you need someone to protect you. The same way that close family will help prevent you from making wrong choices and decisions, wisdom and understand can do the same. When we understand that Jesus Christ is the wisdom of God and the power of God, and we are in His family, and that blood is thicker than water, we had better make sure that wisdom and understanding is always invited to come along with us wherever we may be going.

Sing: You’re my brother, you’re my sister, so take me by the hand, together we will work until He comes. There’s no foe that can defeat us when we are walking side by side, as long as there us love, we can stand.

Thought For Today: Blood is thicker than water!
