The Light That Gets You Out of Darkness
“If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.” (Psalms 139:11-12)
Today’s Morsel: When we are sinners and living in the world, we associate the church as being in darkness. But once we come into a relationship with Jesus Christ, we come to the light, because God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. The psalmist said, the darkness and the light are both alike to Christ. No matter if we are in the church or in the world, God is the same. He's still light. The darkness cannot prevent God from finding you and shining on you. Paul told the church at Corinth: “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” (2 Corinthians 4:3-4) Satan’s goal is to blind you. And he’s doing a pretty good job at it with confusing people’s minds, so that they will have a hard time understanding, not only the gospel, but also who they are. But Paul said that the gospel is design to bring you to the light, which is Jesus Christ, so that, “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,” (Ephesians 1:18-19) No matter how dark your world around you may seem right now, if you seek for Jesus He will be found of you, and you will find yourself standing in the light and not in darkness.
Sing: Send the light the blessed gospel light, let it shine from shore to shore. Send the light, the blessed gospel light, let it shine forever more.
Thought For Today: “For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.” (Psalms 36:9)
