I’m Contagious
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it. But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.” (Acts 4:13-18)
Today’s Morsel: One of the things that the enemy of your soul hates worse than anything else is you being a devoted Christian to Jesus, and you telling others about Him. As Jesus told Peter: “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.” (Luke 22:31-32) Jesus also informed His disciples, “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.” (Matthew 10:22) You are going to be hated. Some folks hate you because you are spreading truth that is changing people’s lives, and the devil doesn’t like it. But we see that even with this promise by Jesus that they would be hated for His name’s sake, they still became contagious with the gospel and went everywhere preaching the Word. They were not going to be stop, even with threats and beatings. They were committed to contaminating the whole world just as Jesus had told them to do (Mark 16:15-18). You see, when you are contagious with any kind of disease, there is a good chance that someone is going to catch it from you. Therefore, I conclude, that when we become born again, we become contagious the same as Jesus and His disciples were. Then wherever you go, somebody is going to catch what you have. Think about that for a moment. Where were you when you got contaminated with the gospel? Who contaminated you because they were infected?
Sing: Fire, fire, fire, fire fall on me; fire, fire, fire, fire fall on me. Like the day of Pentecost, fire fall on me; like the day of Pentecost, fire fall on me. Fire, fire, fire, fire fall on me; fire, fire, fire; let the fire fall on me.
