Joy Cometh in The Morning
“ Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” (Psalms 30:4-5)
Today’s Morsel: I remember when I first came into the church, it was not uncommon to hear the song sung, “This joy that I have, the world didn’t give to me, and the world can’t take it away.” But we don’t hear that song sung anymore. And now we see many in the church without joy. I believe that it is due in part that ‘Joy’ isn’t preached and explained anymore in the church. And now we are starting to see stressed filled and depressed filled lives. People are letting the world steal their joy because they don’t know how to retain the joy of the Lord. The Psalmist said that weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. When we understand that joy is a by-product of the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), then each morning we should awaken with it renewed within us. No one can take the Spirit of God from you. The world didn’t give it to you and the world can’t take it away. So, if you are feeling joyless, then stir-up the gift that is within you by singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, making melody in your heart to the Lord. Just tell the devil he can’t have your joy! He didn’t give it to you and it isn’t his to take away!
Sing: I have found His grace is all complete He supplies my every need. While I sit and learn at Jesus feet, I am free yes free indeed.
It is joy unspeakable and full of glory, full of glory, full of glory. It is joy unspeakable and full of glory and the half has never yet been told.
