Cooperation
“And
again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was
in the house. And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there
was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached
the word unto them. And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy,
which was borne of four. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the
press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up,
they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. When Jesus saw their
faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.”
(Mark 2:1-5)
Today’s Morsel:
Cooperation is the process of working together to the same end. It’s the actions of someone who is being helpful by doing
what is wanted or asked for. Another word for
co-operation is unity. We are told in scripture to endeavor to keep the unity
of the spirit in the bond of peace. We see in today’s passage that these
men were working in cooperation to help their friend get to Jesus. And
because Jesus sees their faith, He forgave the man of His sins and he was
healed. Jesus said, “Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree
on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of
my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 18:19) When we agree in our
prayers it gives us added power. Two are better than one. Who is
your prayer partner? Nehemiah was able to rebuild the wall because the
people had a mind to work. They cooperated with the plan and they
finished the job (Nehemiah 4:15-17) Scripture says, “And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us
go to his tent, neither will we any of us turn into his house. But now
this shall be the thing which we will do to Gibeah; we will go up
by lot against it; And we will take ten men of an hundred throughout all the
tribes of Israel, and an hundred of a thousand, and a thousand out of ten
thousand, to fetch victual for the people, that they may do, when they come to
Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the folly that they have wrought in
Israel. So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together
as one man.”
(Judges 20:8-11) Success is always achieved through
cooperation. If you are not in
cooperation with those in the church to advance the work, you a hindrance to
the work because of your lack of cooperation. You are either on the
building crew or the wrecking crew. I pray you join the building crew of
cooperation today. .
Sing:
I’ll say yes, Lord yes, to Your will and to Your way. I’ll say yes, Lord
yes, I will trust You and obey. When Your Spirit speaks to me with my whole
heart I’ll agree and my answer will be yes, Lord yes.
