The
Foundation
“According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise
masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But
let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no
man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon
this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's
work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be
revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.” (1 Corinthians 3:10-13)
Today’s Morsel: One of the most
important things in home building is the foundation. If the foundation is
laid correctly, it will usually hold what is placed on it. But if it is not,
what is placed on it can easily fall. Paul says that he had laid the
foundation, which is Jesus Christ, and that we need to be careful how and what
we build upon it. Because he says that everything that we build on it
will be tested. The foundation of Jesus Christ is firm and solid. So
we need to decide what we want to build on it. Things that are important
such as family, careers, and loved ones should be built based on the word of
God or they may fall. As Jesus says in Matthew 7:24-27 “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I
will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain
descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house;
and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth
these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man,
which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods
came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was
the fall of it.”
Will you be able to stand when the storms of life are coming against you?
Just what would you like to build in life? In Jesus Christ you have a
sure, firm, and solid foundation. Build on Him and you will stand
strong.
Sing: The name of the Lord is a strong
tower, the righteous run into it and they are safe. The name of the Lord
is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and they are safe.
(Chorus) Blessed be the name
of the Lord, blessed be the name of the Lord, blessed be the name of the Lord,
Most High. Blessed be the name of the Lord, blessed be the name of the
Lord, blessed be the name of the Lord, Most High.
Thought For Today: “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalms 11:3)
It's amazing how supposed Apostolic teachers are teaching against the early churches foundations. The doctrines of hair, communion, foot washing, separation, are subtlety being reasoned away. But God is faithful for those who are sincere.
