Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 31 July 2023

The Conclusion of The Matter

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)

Today’s Morsel: Do you ever ask yourself what the conclusion of your life will be? Are you afraid of dying? Does it cause you to fear when the doctor gives you a difficult doctor’s report? Does all the craziness and foolishness that is going on in the world with political figures trouble you? Is social media wearing you out? Does the thought of war and rumors of war bother you? Do you get tired of hackers, scammers, and robocalls for handouts every day?  Does all this trouble you? Well, Daniel has already informed us: “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” (Daniel 7:25) But he said that the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits (Daniel 11:32) So if you are feeling worn out, welcome to the frontlines of battle. It’s called psychological warfare. The enemy is playing on your mind. Jesus said that this would be a part of the last days: “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” (Matthew 24:6-8) So, what should we do? Jude said to build up yourself on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. James said to resist the devil and he will flee. Peter said to think it not strange concerning the fiery trials which is to try you. Paul said to stand fast in the liberty wherein Christ hath made us free. And Solomon, the wisest man in all the world, says that we should “Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Don’t sweat the small stuff, Jesus will take care of it in the end!

Sing: Hold the fort for I am coming, Jesus whispers still.  Raise the anthem back toward heaven, by Thy grace we will.
