Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 7 February 2022

 Camouflage

“Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.” (Romans 12:9)

Today’s Morsel: One of the things we learned in the army was how to camouflage ourselves and our equipment from enemy observation. We had camouflage nets, camouflage sticks to paint our faces, camouflage paint to paint our vehicles, and even our uniforms were camouflage. In writing to the church at Rome, Paul instructed them to not let their love be camouflaged. It must be the real thing. He said it must be without dissimulation. When people see you, they should know that if you tell them that you love them, it is for real. There must not be irregular patterns with our love. We must love without impartiality. God is love. And His love is true and real.  And we must be as He is.  When you tell someone that you love them, are you for real, or are you a chameleon?  Be upfront and real with people, let them know you are the real deal.

Sing: I love Him too much to fail Him now, too much to break my vow; for I promised the Lord that I would make it somehow, and now I love Him too much to fail Him now.

Thought For Today: Let love be without dissimulation
