 Small Things

“For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.” (Zechariah 4:10)

Today’s Morsel:  Often when my wife and I are going to a store or out shopping, she will see a penny lying on the ground and she will say, “Look a penny, Jesus paid me today.” And she bends down, picks it up and as she puts it in her pocket says "Thank You, Jesus."  When we lived in Okinawa Japan, the military always rounded up or down to the next nickel. So most military personnel would have no need for their pennies. So they would often place them in the church offering plates. My Japanese laundryman would sometimes give me nickels, dimes, and quarters that Americans would leave in their laundry pockets because we didn’t want to hassle with trying to exchange them at the local Japanese bank. I told him numerous times that I would give him dollars for them, but he would never take it from me. Who has despised the day of small things?  Little is much when God is in it. Don’t ever call your church small. Don’t ever think that God doesn’t care about what you may think of as a little problem. Those words are from the devil. You and Jesus are a majority in any situation. Don’t focus on numbers. Your ministry is measured by the way that people’s lives are changed based on your preaching and teaching.  Your life often consists of day-to-day small events.  Ask Jesus to be in the small things,  He cares about every detail of our lives.

Sing: Little is much when God is in it, Labor not for wealth and fame.  There’s a crown and you can win it if you go in Jesus' Name!

Thought For Today: “If a care is too small to be turned into a prayer, then it is too small to be turned into a burden.”
