We Have an Amazing God
“Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S name is to be praised. The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens. Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high, Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth! He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people. He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.” (Psalms 113:1-9)
Today’s Morsel: We are serving an awesome God. I don’t know why anyone would not want to know, love, and serve Him when all He desires to do is to save you. God’s overall purpose for our lives is to make our lives better, and to show us how to use them for His glory and to help others. Life isn’t hard if we follow God’s word that He has given us. Did you know that most vehicles will last a very long time if you keep up the required maintenance and repairs on them. Yes, it may cost you a little bit, but at least you are not having to put out $500-$700 a month in car payments, because you didn’t do the maintenance and now you need a new car. You see, God is so awesome that He gave us a book (The Bible) to use to keep up the required maintenance and repairs on our live so that we would last a long time. Methuselah lived to be 969 years. That’s a long life. God parted the Red Sea so Israel could pass over to safety on dry ground. He caused the sun and moon to stand still so Joshua could complete the battle that he was fighting. He shut the mouth of the lions so that Daniel was not hurt. He walked in the fire with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego so that they were not burned. He caused a valley of dry bones to stand up and become a mighty army to encourage the prophet, Ezekiel. He freed Peter from prison so that he was not killed. He healed Paul of a viper’s bite so that he did not die. He turned the woman’s handful of meal into a barrel of meal. And the woman’s pot of oil into a flowing brook of oil. If I were to continue, you would still be reading of this amazing God this time tomorrow. Actually, you can read all about it in His book, the BIBLE. But until you do read it all for yourself - just know that we are serving an amazing God and that there is nothing that He cannot do. Look in the mirror at yourself. Don’t you think that you are amazing? He surely does!
Sing: He’s the Great I Am, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, the Great Eternal Wonder, Holy Counselor, and Zion’s Righteous Governor, He’s the great, He’s the Great I Am.
Thought For Today: “Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.” (Isaiah 44:8)
