Reading The Word

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15)

Today’s Morsel: Folks who say that they are Christians and who do not read the word of God, don’t know what they are missing. The Bible is given so that you will understand what you have been given for development in your life. Those who do not read and study the word of God are often depressed, lonely, discouraged, and may even suffer from PTSD and suicidal thoughts. God’s word is Himself being revealed to us. It shows us how much God truly loves us. The story in its pages is designed to show us the things that we ought not to do, how we are to treat others, and how we ought to live. God’s word teaches us how to not sin against God and others. It helps us be a more productive person in our lives and communities. As Abraham Lincoln stated, the day that one stops reading is the day he stops leading. Keep in mind, the epistles, which were written by Paul and the other apostles, are to teach us self-discipline and good godly character. If you want to have a good productive and successful life, read His word daily.

Sing: Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. Because He lives, all fear is gone. Because I know, know, know, He holds the future, my life is worthy the living just because He lives.

Thought For Today: “I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” (Psalms 138:2)
