Morning Manna by Rufus Parker - 30 September 2019

Vision
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” (Proverbs 29:18)

Today’s Morsel:  Every year I receive a reminder from my optometry clinic to schedule an annual appointment, I am told that I need to come in to have my vision checked.  They want to keep a watch on my eyes as glaucoma runs in my family.  I often wonder how many people in the world are spiritually blind.  Paul said, “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.(2 Corinthians 4:3-4).  If there is no vision the people perish.  If there is no prophecy, preaching, and teaching of God’s word, the people will perish.  Again Paul admonishes, “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-15).  Don’t let Satan steal your vision.  You don’t want to be blinded to the truth.

Sing:  I see a crimson stream of blood, it flows from Calvary.  It’s waves which reach the throne of God, are sweeping over me.

Thought For Today: Don’t let Satan steal your vision.
