Listening
“The
way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto
counsel is wise.” (Proverbs 12:15)
Today’s Morsel: For about a month, each
Sunday as we would leave the church, there was this truck in front of us with a
bumper sticker that stated, “You can’t fix stupid.” One of the things that I find when people are going
through things in their life is many of them have a hard time listening to and accepting counsel. The
thing that keeps a wise man from becoming a fool is accepting Godly
counsel. A wise man is
willing to be advised, desires to have counsel given to him, and he listens to it. If we are not willing to listen when we are having issues, we may remain in our dilemma
longer then we need to. Solomon says, “He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck,
shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.” (Proverbs 29:1) In other words, don’t expect
healing and deliverance if you aren’t going to listen to Godly counsel.
Stupidity hurts.
Sing: And
he walks with me and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own; And the
joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.
